Side Effects

As explained before, every person responds to Reiki differently.  In the sessions that I have conducted to date, the majority of my clients have had a pleasant experience which always resulted in tension releasing, a deeper sense of presence (being in the moment), smiling from ear to ear and leaving more energized.

Unfortunately though, with a positive experience for most, I have had a couple of clients that have had a negative experience in terms of symptoms a few days after the session.  I recommend that those that have uncomfortable/unpleasant symptoms either during or after to not despair but to continue additional sessions to help shift the build up of years of muck that has been swept under the rug.

Detox Symptoms

Detox symptoms appear due to a faster than normal rate of toxin elimination depending on the load of the toxins in a person’s body. The condition is temporary that usually lasts (worst case scenario) no longer than 21 days, IF AT ALL.  Symptoms can be mild, moderate, and severe. It can be physical and emotional.

Some POSSIBLE detox symptom/s are as follows:

  • Strong emotions like anger, worry, irritability, sadness, fear.

  • Mood swings.

  • Fever, cold or flu.

  • Nausea

  • Diarrhea.

  • Fatigue

  • Restlessness.

  • Pains, for instance, joint or muscular pain.

  • Skin reactions like itching, rashes, etc.

  • Dizziness or fainting.

  • Insomnia.

The symptoms above are merely reactions that can POSSIBLY occur.  This can be due to having stimulated your immune system and kick started the healing process.  All side effect symptoms will eventually subside as the sessions continue taking place.  It is important for my clients to ask me questions if they have any kind of unusual or severe reaction that appears during or after the session.

How to Best Manage your Symptoms

Increase your water intake as soon as the session is over because water helps to flush the toxins and other waste products out of the body and can speed up the cleansing process.  Regular filtered water consumption is good for our health and diet it is also essential for many functions of the body.  It is important in helping with digestion; the absorption of food, the regulation of body temperature and blood circulation, the carrying of nutrients and oxygen to the cells in the body, and for the removal of toxins.

Other ways that may be helpful are:

  • Changing your diet and avoiding processed foods.

  • Express your emotions in a healthy way.

  • Avoid negative thoughts and situations.

  • Sometimes a good bowel movement relieves the symptoms.

  • Treat yourself gently and get plenty of rest, especially if you feel fatigued.

  • Spend some time in peace and quiet if you can.

  • Sit outside in fresh air if you are able to do so.

Don’t Delay, Act Now

Transformation is only a session away.  Your mind, body and soul will be thankful for it and will want more.  Please don’t let the fear of  ‘POSSIBLY’ having the detox symptoms scare you off, as these symptoms may not even occur at all.
